To ensure that each of our pupils will know, remember and understand more about how to play a positive and successful role within our society and to tackle many of the moral, social and cultural issues, making links between our academic aims and the modern world in which they find themselves in, empowering them to operate positively, independently and safely both as a child and as an adult within their future.
To develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community and to look for opportunities to show our school values of TOGETHER.
To provide our children with opportunities for them to learn about and value rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society.
Implementation
In EYFS, our pupils are continually taught and shown how to play a positive and successful role in the classroom and into the wider community.
Adults consistently model expected behaviours so that children become capable of showing this through play.
All pupils across school are explicitly taught using selected lessons from ‘Mind Mate’, ‘Jigsaw’, ‘You, Me and PSHE’, and ‘PiXL Character and Culture’.
Impact
The impact of our PSHE & RSE curriculum is:
To equip and prepare our children to be safe, healthy and prepared for life’s opportunities.
